My dearest cat, my beautiful Baby, is dying from a kidney failure.
Before I begin, you may want to read here before you read this http://brightandshinyidols.blogspot.com/, simply because it offers some background.
We’ve decided to put my beloved Baby to sleep on Friday, March 19th.
After that, we will bring her remains up to New Paltz and lay her to rest on my Old Man’s parent’s property, right next to his own beloved dog.
It was his idea.
The options for her remains were all depressing, but this we’ve decided that this was best.
One of the options they gave were unacceptable, the worst being cremating her and disposing of her remains with a bunch of other animals.
I couldn’t bear that--- to throw her out like garbage…
I like the idea of giving her remains back to the earth because in some ways, her body will help other living things grow and thrive over and over and over again.
This is what it’s all about. She’ll continue to live through other living things.
