On Mourning and Solace
When you are grieving, are the words that people offer you empty or not?

I've always felt that they weren't just things that people say to fill the silence, but now I'm not so sure.

I think some people who are grieving perceive them that way--- to be just words.

I don't know anymore.

When my dear grandmother died 1 1/2 years ago (and now my Baby), I've found that people often don't know what to say or do to make you feel better. They say "If you need me, I'll be there". I do believe that they say this in all sincerity. They do want you to feel better, you know?

Maybe my perceptions are wrong.

Maybe people could do more to offer solace to those who are grieving, but what?

Help me to understand this, please?
