This is a personal salute to Senator Tom Harkin who recently called Cheney a "coward" for his avoidance of military service in Vietnam ( http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg=1673&u_sid=1175669 ).

Harkin said, ""When I hear this coming from Dick Cheney, who was a coward, who would not serve during the Vietnam War, it makes my blood boil," Harkin said. "Those of us who served and those of us who went in the military don't like it when someone like a Dick Cheney comes out and he wants to be tough. Yeah, he'll be tough. He'll be tough with somebody else's blood, somebody else's kids. But not when it was his turn to go."

Now THAT's what I want to hear. Kick him in the grill, Tom!

Why is it okay for chickenhawks like Bush and Cheney to criticize ANYONE'S military service?

My point is that I am very glad to see that at least one senator is willing to take his gloves off and unabashedly say what I KNOW most senators would like to say.

The Democrats need to stop with this namby pamby skirting around the issues and really say what needs to be said.

I know plenty of lefties who would love for this to happen more. Many of us are tired of watching our political representatives "play nice".

That time is over, and our "play nice" Democratic representatives need to come out swinging.
