Okay.
These days, I'm wondering why it is that I bother to teach at all.
Two days ago, as I was bringing my students to the cafeteria for lunch, one of my former students (who, by chance, was happening to pass by with his class) decided that it would be all fine and dandy to smack me upside my head.

Yeah.

Today, one of my colleagues had a chair thrown at her.

A week ago, another was KICKED in the chest by a student.

Welcome to my job.

These days, I am wondering how I morphed into one of those cranky old women who wonder what the hell is wrong with kids these days? The fact is, so many of these kids are rotten to the effing core.

I mean, really.

Can you imagine where I work? Can you imagine dealing with kids who walk into your classroom (8 to 11 year olds, mind you, but THAT's another story) who are ready to rumble over a ten-cent pencil??????

Can you imagine working in a place in which children believe they can do whatever they want, including clock a teacher upside her head just because he was "just playing"???

What gets my panties in a royal twist is that our beloved Mayor, one of the richest BILLIONAIRE magnates in this country that he is, has the gall to even suggest that I, an educated educator who CHOSE this profession because I truly believed it was an important job to have before I got called a "No necked Black bitch" by a nine year old son of a literal whore, get a PAY CUT.

Can you imagine the effing NERVE??????????
