With recent events in Spain and now this http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040314/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq&cid=540&ncid=716 , do you feel any safer?

I was unlucky enough hear the planes hit the WTC and to watch the towers fall from my bedroom window here in NYC, so trust me when I say that safety is not exactly what comes to mind when we're talking about this so-called War on Terror.

Riding the subways and buses every day as I commute to work from The East Village to Harlem, I am constantly reminded about how unsafe I actually am. Anybody with a grudge to bear against the government can easily walk into the subway and that, my friends, would be that.

Boom.

Let's be honest about this, folks.
Terror's been a fact of life for all of those people in the Holy Land (Israelis and Palestinians alike), the people of the British Isles, Spain, and the various countries of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
We got our taste of it to the tune of over 3,000 people on September 11th, 2001.

In truth, it looks as if it is only going to get worse.
Terrorism will NOT end simply because George the Talking Simian wants to play General Custer with our soldiers.

How arrogant.

Sheesh...

And while we're at it, don't get me started on North Korea, a country who nah-nah-nah-nah-nahs WMDs at us, flips us the bird and politely tells us to piss off.

I'll get to them at a later time.
